Back to School NIght

There was a fantastic turn out last night at Liberty Academy's Back to School Night. So many families attended, familiarizing themselves with the new school year that began today! Many enjoyed reuniting with friends and teachers they missed over the summer, and many brand-new students came open to the new adventure that awaited them. There was a lively spirit amongst the crowds, making the event quite enjoyable.

Teachers greeting parents and their new students, taking a moment to let them know what they should expect from their class. Mr. Winget made a special point to help parents understand the significance of what he teaches and how he teaches in a way that keeps his students active and void of any bordem or tiredness that tries to sneak in. It was lovely seeing the personalities of teachers expressed in their classrooms. Each classroom decorated, giving you a fun glimpse into who these teachers are. Whether it be the western wheels of History, or the wild jungle of 3rd grade, it's clear there is a great desire and a lot of effort given in hopes to help students feel at home in their classrooms. Thank you to the teachers and faculty for all their efforts, and thank you for the parents and students for making it all so worth it.

It was a great night!

We are very glad so many could make it out, and hope everyone had a fantastic first day.

Wise Words, Along the Joyous Journey of Learning...

“The best thing for being sad," replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, "is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then — to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.”

T.H. White, The Once and Future King

Hope all, young and old, are excited for another year of life and learning.

Orchard Days

Liberty Academy had the opportunity to participate in the 2nd Annual Orchard Days in Santaquin, UT on Monday. After the children's parade, Bonnie Mortensen and Kate Smith represented Liberty at the Santaquin Community Center for "Family Night," running the oh-so-popular spinwheel booth. Excited children, and even parents, lined up with their red tickets in hand excited for the chance to give the wheel a spin and win a prize. Liberty's line seemed to extend around the room, many participants coming back for and second or third time, yearning for another go at the wheel. It was wonderful to see old and new Liberty parents and students among the delightful surroundings.

Despite windy weather and moving the booths and bounce houses inside, spirits were high, and parents and children alike enjoyed train rides, pie eating contests, music and an outdoor movie. It was easy to be charmed by the warm community presence that filled the Santaquin Community Center that evening. There is a true felicity in being immersed in the community spirit, and Liberty Academy enjoyed the great experience!

Orchard Days run until Aug. 4th. For upcoming events and schedule, go here!... and have fun!

It all starts here...
