If you do not have this book in your Christmas collections, it's a must have.

It is an extremely touching story about a tree, Small Pine, longing to be chosen by the royalty of the land to be the year's Christmas Tree, a great honor. Small Pine working very hard to grow just right, was likely to be the one chosen, which made the other trees quite jealous. However, as the cold of winter came through the forest, animals needed shelter. While other trees shunned the little creatures to protect their beautiful form, Small Pine opened its branches without a thought, to protect the animals in need. This left his branches tattered and ruffled, and with a loss of hope to ever be the chosen Christmas Tree...
